Osaka

Osaka is known for it's neon lights, eccentric nightlife, and food (octopus balls).

Mmm...ramen

Seriously, tons of neon!

Hiroshima

Our journey to Hiroshima only took a few hours from Kumamoto, due to the efficiency of the bullet trains. Our first stop in Hiroshima was the island of Miyajima, famous for one of the "3 views" of Japan.

Miyajima was so beautiful. There were also some cute deer walking around all over the place! We went back to Hiroshima to see the Peace Memorial Park.

We concluded our night in Hiroshima with a Hiroshima Carp baseball game. All I have to say is...WOW. Japanese people know how to have a good time at a baseball game!!!

Kumamoto

Today was pretty chill...we hung out in Kumamoto. Jo took us around the city and we ate a traditional Japanese lunch (so yummy) with her friend Noriyo. We also went to Kumamoto castle, which was unbelievable! Jo also took us to eat at a Japanese buffet, which was pretty interesting.

Jo and her friend Noriyo, who was kind enough to take us out to a traditional Japanese meal

Kumamoto castle...one of Kumamoto's most famous landmarks.

Tomorrow we're off to Hiroshima! I can't wait to ride on the Shinkansen!!

Tokyo

Well, we made it here! Today we wandered around Harajuku and Asakusa in Tokyo and now I am in Kumamoto on the island of Kyushu with my friend Jo.

A traditional wedding at Meiji Shrine

It was raining like crazy, but we still had a great time during our first full day in Japan. By the way, I discovered that McDonalds has a really yummy curry sauce here. YUM!

JAPAN...coming soon!

I thought I'd get off to a fresh start and use this to post about my whereabouts over the next 2 weeks. If anything, I'll at least use this later to share some amusing Engrish I find along the way. :)
